ABOUT
Thanks for visiting!
My name is Dionisio, named after my father, who was named after his father. It is difficult to determine where to begin, because I created this platform for a multitude of reasons, so I guess I will take you back to the beginning...
My younger brother and I were raised by two of the most sacrificial parents we could ask for. They instilled in us confidence, integrity, compassion, and did everything they could to give us better lives than they had. Although racially and culturally extremely different from one another (Dad, Puerto Rican and Mom, White), they both upheld the same values and love for their kids.
For the most part we were raised with a pretty simple principle, be the best we could be at whatever we set our minds to. For most of my life this meant performing in the classroom, as well as on the football field, and this became my identity. I spent my young life grinding at the things I was good at, and never stopped to consider what else was out there.
This path of life produced some beautiful blessings and incredible accomplishments; college football, graduating from a top tier university, getting married to an amazing woman, accepting an awesome job offer out of school, the list goes on. But, when all those critical life accomplishments came to pass, and my wife and I were living everyday life together without any fixed life timeline goals, we found ourselves feeling uninspired. It was at this point in my life, when I began diving into interests I would have never thought I’d find interesting.
I began spending time reading old books about shoe making, investing time and money into my 1984 Corvette, cultivating my whiskey collection, spending every Saturday morning at the shoe shop as a cobbler apprentice, experimenting endlessly with a multitude of business ideas, learning and educating others about natural wine, modeling on the side through an agency, and most recently began documenting my journey through it all in the form of expositions.
The suggestion to begin writing came from my brother-in-law, which led to me thinking about a platform to share the brief pieces I’d been working on, which made me think about my other hobbies/interest/passions I could include on the platform, which ultimately led me to develop this site: seemingly a hodgepodge of random things, when in reality each component is a brief glimpse into my mind, life, and the passions I cherish so dearly.
I hope you are as excited as I am to embark on this journey to revitalize passion and meaning, in a world that seems to unintentionally ignore both as each year passes.
Cheers!
