How it Began.
Over the past few years my interest in men’s dress shoes transitioned from a leisurely hobby to a full blown passion. It all began when a close friend introduced me to the world of high end men’s footwear, piquing my interest in shoe craftsmanship – from sourcing quality calfskin, admiring Goodyear Welt construction, trying my hand at patina artistry, to perfecting the mirror shine, and more.
In order to learn all aspects of the craft, I introduced myself to our local cobbler, Fred, and asked if he’d be willing to teach me the trade. He gladly said yes, and I began spending every Saturday morning apprenticing under his guidance as he taught me the skillful art of shoe restoration.
The more I learned, the more I was able to visualize the potential each shoe had beyond simply restoring it back to new. Ever since, I have been adding my own artisanal touch to transform these functionality-driven, shoe restoration projects to pieces of art in my collection – the D.III Collection.
Because these high end shoe brands pride themselves in creating products made to last a lifetime, I carry out their promise by giving life to tired shoes. Each pair you find in my collection has been restored by hand, given a fresh modern finish, and unworn since it's renewal.
